I didn’t think I still had this piece. It may be my first charcoal/gesso demo that I actually kept. Historic. About 12x18 9 inches on cardboard. Hop over to FB if interested in owning history. facebook.com/billcarmanart
This medal winner from the Society of Illustrators should surely be in the “gold” section of my book, don’t you think?
"Armored Bees need Walking"
Had someone want to make t-shirts out of this one. Odd choice. Wish I could grant everyone rights that want them.
One of the great benefits of putting in the work for a new book is going through old stuff like sketchbooks. Maybe some of the older things are a little lacking in skill but they still have the charm. This must have been drawn during a bad meeting.
One of the few things I’ve done that proves I have, albeit a small one, a heart. This was for charity and a piece I really like.
I will be incommunicado for a few days. I have a couple of new pieces that can’t be posted yet so I’ll leave you with another oldie but goodie. I don’t want to leave you empty handed. “Fish Head Sandwich”
Another older discovery. “MoleMan” Part of a series of three including Captain Capibara and DecaGirl. It was originally about 18x24 with lots of white space. Now I trimmed it to about 8x14 inches. Wish you could see the ink detail.
Moving things around and uncovering little treasures. Housecleaning and finding homes for pieces that have been tucked away for awhile. This is a strange little elegant, mysterious drawing done about 5 years ago. Image is 3x4 inches on a 5x7 board. Let me know if you are interested.
This is what happens when i clean up a little. I uncovered more demos and this much more personal drawing, “Because My Name is Harold,” done a few years back. I’ve kept it awhile but am now ready to let it go. About 22x30 inches it’s mixed media on cardboard. Sorry for the bad phone photo, the drawing is much whiter. Have a look at my FB page, https://www.facebook.com/billcarmanart, for some class demos I uncovered.
